Shaes is a new hole-in-the-wall bar in Old Colorado City serving up beer in mason jars and cheap pizzas that will satisfy your late night hunger. With a menu offering pizzas and sandwiches, a liquor shelf filled with everything you can think of and an incredibly welcoming and genuine staff, this place should quickly become a Westside favorite.
Alchemy serves up unique drinks and food with a twist
Last week the Colorado Springs Young Professionals hosted an event at Alchemy, a pub in Old Colorado City. I hadn’t been to this restaurant yet so I went and let the waitress help me pick something to eat. At her suggestion, I ordered the sweet potato nachos and they were awesome.
Wine and food pairing at The Sweet Elephant
After receiving an email for a wine and food pairing from The Sweet Elephant I figured it was worth giving the cute corner shop in Old Colorado City a call for more details. When the associate on the phone explained that it was free with the purchase of a glass of wine I was sold. The dinner featured food prepared by a local chef and wines from Ten Bears Winery.
Meadow Muffins reopens as Mother Muff’s
Meadow Muffins may have closed a few months ago, but the former westside restaurant and bar has now reopened as Mother Muff’s. It opens for breakfast, serves a full-menu all day and has an extensive drink menu. Although I miss Meadow Muffins, I think this new restaurant is just what was needed in Old Colorado City.
I would eat Pizzeria Rustica every day
Pizza is my life. No, really. I love any kind of pizza – chain, delivery, thin crust, Chicago style, it really doesn’t matter. But if I’m looking for a great authentic Italian pizza, I head to Old Colorado City for a peach bellini and slice of Margherita at Pizzeria Rustica.
